Front Brake Pad Wear Indicator – Audi e-tron GT & Porsche Taycan
This brake pad wear indicator is the sensor wire that sits in the front brake pad and warns you when the pads are worn. It fits the front axle on either side. The cable is 324 mm long and has a two-pin plug that clips into the car’s wiring loom.
As the pad wears down, the sensor tip touches the brake disc and breaks the circuit, which brings up the brake pad warning on the dashboard. Once it has been triggered the sensor is used up, so a new one should go in every time the front pads are changed. Fitting an old or damaged sensor can leave the warning light on, or stop it coming on when the pads really are worn.
