Tesla Model 3 and Model Y Control Arms

There is no difference in practice. Control arm, suspension arm and wishbone all describe the arm that links the wheel hub to the subframe. Tesla catalogues also use fore link, aft link, toe link and lateral link for individual arms. Go by the position in the product title and match the Tesla part number to your old arm.

Work out the position first: front or rear, upper or lower, and left or right. Then open the listing and compare the Tesla part number with the number on your old arm. Most listings let you choose the brand and side on the product page. If you are not sure which arm is which, send us your registration number and we will check it before you order.

Sometimes. Several arms are listed for both cars, such as the front lower aft arm and the upper control arm, and the title says Model 3 and Model Y when they are. The front lower fore link is different, because the Model 3 and the Model Y each have their own listing and Tesla part numbers. Read the title, or send us your registration number.

The front upper arm is a forged aluminium wishbone that replaces the original pressed steel arm and saves 0.5 kg per arm, and the link kits use firmer bushes. Yes. A new arm changes camber and toe, even when it looks the same as the old one, so book a four-wheel alignment as soon as it is fitted. Skipping it can wear the tyres quickly and make the steering feel off.
